Revenue collection of Mechi Customs Office reaches over Rs 12.93 billion



BHADRAPUR: The Mechi Customs Office in Kakadbhitta has achieved a revenue collection exceeding Rs 12.93 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

With one month remaining in the fiscal year, the office has attained 77.57 percent of its revenue target.

According to Ganapati Kandel, Public Information Officer at Mechi Customs Office, imports have seen a slight decline of 3.61 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year, whereas exports have risen by 10.76 percent.

Imports valued at Rs 40.79 billion and exports valued at Rs 22.21 billion have passed through Kakadbhitta customs.

Kandel noted significant increases in the export of chhurpi by 65.29 percent, plywood by 56.33 percent, ginger by 35.45 percent, broom grass (amriso) by 31.34 percent, and venous seat by 12.57 percent.

However, exports of cardamom decreased by 2.61 percent and tea by 13.42 percent.

In contrast, imports of diesel, aviation fuel, vegetables, jute, gypsum, clothing, and LPG have decreased in this fiscal year compared to the previous one.

The Kakadbhitta border point handles imports such as petrol, diesel, jute products, cooking gas, vegetables, gypsum, resins, clothing, and fruits (including juice).

Meanwhile, exports include cardamom, iron sheets, plywood, tea, chhurpi, amriso, ginger, sweets, other metal residues, venous sheets, clinker, and various other materials.
