KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has demanded to address the parliament following Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s remarks.
The NC has agreed to let Home Minister Lamichhane respond to the queries raised against him in Sunday’s parliamentary meeting.
This decision comes after a task force, assigned to define the Terms of Reference (TOR) for a committee probing cooperative fund misappropriation, failed to reach a consensus.
The NC has requested time for their representatives to speak during the meeting as well.
According to the NC’s proposal, party leader Ram Hari Khatiwada will speak first, followed by Home Minister Lamichhane.
After the Home Minister’s address, Gagan Kumar Thapa, General Secretary of NC, is scheduled to speak, Khatiwada stated.
Home Minister Lamichhane is expected to respond to the allegations against him in the cooperative fraud case.
The parliamentary meeting, initially scheduled for 11 AM this morning, has yet to commence.
