Seven arrested in connection with policeman Ghimire’s murder



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with the murder of policeman Yubaraj Ghimire. The suspects were presented to the public today.

The arrested individuals are:

  • Sachin Pariyar, 21, also known as Aaite, from Chagunarayan Municipality-1, Bhaktapur
  • Anjali Shrestha, 18, from Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality-1, Nuwakot
  • Basundhara Karki, 21, from Aandhikhola Rural Municipality-3, Syangja
  • Nunmaya Karki, 56, also from Aandhikhola
  • Buddha Lama Tamang, 21, from Okhare, Tani Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot
  • Amrit Tamang, 30, also known as Dorje, from Indrawati Rural Municipality-1, Sindhupalchowk
  • A 13-year-old boy whose name has not been disclosed

Senior Superintendent of Police Basant Rajaure provided details about the case.

Ghimire, who hailed from Majuwagadhi Rural Municipality-1 in Khotang, was serving at the Traffic Police Sector in Durbar Marg.

Ghimire’s body was discovered in Manmaiju of Tarkeshwor-9, Kathmandu.

It was found concealed beneath a mattress on the ground floor of an under-construction house.

The accused were temporarily residing in Manmaiju at the time of the incident.
