KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Oli, has commented that the Nepali Congress’s (NC) demand to establish a parliamentary committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane is unnecessary.

Speaking to journalists at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor on Tuesday, the UML Chair remarked that forming a probe committee is neither feasible nor necessary.

He stated that it is undemocratic for a party like the NC to obstruct the parliament out of anger and agitation due to being ousted from the government.

During a previous parliamentary session, the NC had demanded the establishment of a parliamentary committee to investigate Home Minister Lamichhane’s involvement in the cooperative scam.

The NC has warned of obstructing the House proceedings if the probe committee is not established.
