Trade deficit declines by Rs. 902.96 billion, exports decreased by 3.99 percent



KATHMANDU: The country’s trade deficit stands at Rs. 929.60 billion by the end of the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2080/81.

According to the data made public by the Department of Customs on Tuesday, along with the decrease in imports, the trade deficit has also reduced.

The trade deficit has decreased by 2.52 percent until the end of Falgun.

The country’s trade deficit was Rs. 953.58 billion at the same time last year.

During this period, imports of goods and services amounted to Rs. 1,030.22 billion, while exports of goods and services amounted to Rs. 106.17 billion.

Compared to the previous year, exports have also decreased along with imports.

Comparing until Falgun of the previous year, imports have decreased by 2.66 percent, while exports have decreased by 3.99 percent.
