Medical college students’ protest for quality food continues for 9th day

KATHMANDU: The students at Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel, Jorpati have been actively protesting for the past 9 days demanding improved food quality in the college canteen.

Students in their first and second years of MBBS studies at the college have united in the protest, expressing dissatisfaction with the mandatory hostel arrangements and the substandard food served in the mess.

Despite students paying an advance food charge of Rs 150,000 for the entire year, those protesting claim that they have not got quality food even after paying extra amount.

They allege that the college administration is resorting to threats of academic consequences if students voice their concerns.

The medical students’ protest is gaining support from various student wings affiliated with political parties.
