I have been unjustly targeted by state: Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has stated that he has not committed any crime following his arrest by police.

After being taken into custody at the party office in Banasthali, Lamichhane addressed journalists and supporters on Friday, claiming he was being unjustly targeted.

“The hope of the campaign has been attacked,” he said, while expressing respect for the judicial process. He emphasized the need for political resistance, declaring, “I have not committed any crime. The state is using all its power against me. I will face it firmly.”

As Lamichhane exited the party office, his supporters chanted slogans in his favor, expressing solidarity with the leader.

Lamichhane was arrested at the party office and subsequently taken to Pokhara.

Following his arrest, his supporters shouted slogans against Prime Minister KP Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
