KATHMANDU: The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

A parliamentary party meeting of the LSP, presided over by its chair Mahantha Thakur, reached this decision, according to the party’s chief whip, Ram Prakash Chaudhary.

Sharad Singh Bhandari, the Minister for Labour and Employment, represents the LSP, which supports the current government. The LSP has four lawmakers in the House of Representatives.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on July 21, as per the Constitution of Nepal.

President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Oli as Prime Minister last Sunday under Article 76 (2) of the Constitution.
