NC leaders in Baluwatar for talks with ruling coalition



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leaders, including party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Gagan Thapa, have reached at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar for discussions with the ruling coalition.

As per information from Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s Secretariat, NC President Deuba, General Secretary Thapa, National Assembly Chief Whip Krishna Sitaula, and House of Representatives Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak are in Baluwatar for the discussions.

Prime Minister Dahal, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, along with Speaker Devraj Ghimire, have been deliberating various options to resolve the deadlock in the parliament.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal held discussions with NC leaders on Saturday morning and assured them of seeking a solution to the deadlock.

According to NC leaders, Dahal has assured them of reaching a consensus on their concerns by Sunday morning.

Opposition parties, including the main opposition party NC, have been obstructing Parliament, seeking the formation of a parliamentary probe committee against Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane for his alleged involvement in cooperatives-related fraud.
