Krishna Mahara arrest case: Gagan Thapa commends government action

KATHMANDU: In response to the arrest of Maoist Center leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa expressed gratitude towards the government for its decisive action.

Speaking at the House of Representatives on Monday, Thapa emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable as per the findings of the Commission of Inquiry.

“The commission has submitted its report, and recently Krishna Mahara was arrested. Thanks to the government,” Thapa remarked.

He also underscored the need for continued scrutiny, stating, “We must question the government if not all those identified by the commission are apprehended. Not a single individual designated by this commission should evade justice. It is our duty to hold the government accountable.”

Mahara was apprehended by police at Bhairahawa on Monday morning and has since been transported to Kathmandu.
