DHARAN: A clash has erupted between the locals of Dharan Metropolitan City-19 and the police at the gate of the Dharan Area Police Office on Sunday.
The altercation occurred after two individuals, who were trying to demolish the Southern Gate of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences premises, were apprehended.
CPN-Maoist Center had demanded the opening of the southern gate formerly opened during the Maoist Special Transformation Campaign. However, as the authority defied the party’s demand citing the legal provisions, the clash erupted.
The Maoist Center’s 19th Committee had initiated the disruption at the gate on Saturday afternoon.
