Biplav appointed coordinator of Socialist Front



KATHMANDU: The Samajwadi Morcha (Socialist Front), a coalition of five left-leaning political parties, has named Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ as its coordinator.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Front held earlier this morning.

Leaders representing the Maoist Centre, Janata Samajwadi Party, Unified Socialist, and the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav were in attendance.

Previously, the member parties had agreed to rotate the leadership position.

The Front was previously led by Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal.
