Agriculture Act to be brought soon: Minister Bhusal



KATHMANDU: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr Beduram Bhusal, has said that preparation was underway to bring Agriculture Act soon in order to resolve the problems of agriculture sector.

Minister Bhusal said so addressing the agro-biodiversity and indigenous crop exhibition organised by the Second National Agriculture Biodiversity Day and Week Ceremony Committee here today.

Stating that the country should be made self-dependent by developing and expanding agriculture sector for economic transformation, he laid emphasis on the need of increasing agro production modernizing the sector through the use of technology.

The Agriculture Act would help for the same, mentioned Minister Bhusal, adding different varieties of indigenous crops of the country should be preserved.

He expressed the view that agro production should be increased by utilizing achievements gained in the sector of agriculture research and agriculture science.

Traditional types of wooden wares, food crops, fruits, seeds as well as other goods have been put on display in the expo.
