Show cause order issued against Bar President



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court of Nepal has issued a show cause order against Gopal Krishna Ghimire, President of the Nepal Bar Association, in response to a contempt of court case filed against him.

The order was issued on Thursday by a bench comprising Justices Kumar Regmi and Kumar Chudal.

The contempt case was filed by Supreme Court Sub-Registrar Govinda Prasad Ghimire, who alleged that President Ghimire had made public statements that disrespected the authority of the court.

In response, the court has asked Gopal Krishna Ghimire to provide reasons for his actions.

This case has drawn attention to the conduct of legal professionals and their responsibilities toward upholding the dignity of the judiciary.
