Nepal Police chief stresses unified action to combat drug abuse

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, has underlined the need to take unified measures to combat drug abuse.

In his address to the 28th anniversary of the Asara Drug Rehabilitation Centre here today, IGP Kunwar applauded the contribution of the Centre to the containment of drug abuse.

As he said, the Center contributes to social correction and to positive transformations in society by providing counseling, medical treatment, and rehabilitation facilities for abusers.

He launched the Asara Darpan-2081 BS, the Centre’s annual publication, on the occasion. The Centre is being operated as a non-profit NGO under the supervision of the Nepal Police Wives Association.
