KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ asserted that the recent standing committee meeting has bolstered party unity, dispelling concerns of a potential split.

He made these remarks during a program at the party office to mark the ninth Memorial Day of Posta Bahadur Bogati.

Chair Dahal addressed speculation that the party might fracture following opinions expressed by Deputy General-Secretary Janardan Sharma.

However, he emphasized that the standing committee meeting had instead strengthened the party’s unity.

Sharma’s views, presented in written form at the meeting, will be incorporated into the party’s official documents.

On a different note, Dahal, a former Prime Minister, claimed that his removal from office was a result of his anti-corruption initiatives.

“Efforts towards good governance and social justice during my premiership were among the factors that led to my ousting,” he remarked.

Dahal also paid tribute to the late leader Posta Bahadur Bogati, highlighting his significant contributions to party organization and leadership.

Bogati, born into an ordinary family, rose to political prominence, with a character and personality that, according to Dahal, could influence the entire nation.

Senior Vice-Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha also spoke at the event, emphasizing the need for cultural transformation to strengthen the party organization and advance its ideology.

He noted that the standing committee had unanimously agreed to work towards greater unity within the party and stressed the importance of reinforcing the party leadership.

Barsha Man Pun, Chair of the Posta Bahadur Memorial Foundation, stated that the Foundation is dedicated to preserving and passing on Bogati’s legacy to the new generation.
