NC decides not to back down on demand for parliamentary committee to investigate cooperative fraud case

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to persist with its demand to form a parliamentary committee to investigate the involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative fraud case.

The party held a parliamentary party meeting on Friday morning.

“There is substantial evidence to prove the involvement of Home Minister Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud case, and we demand an investigation into the matter,” said Ramesh Lekhak, the chief whip of the party.

The NC has also accused the government of protecting those involved in the fraud.

Additionally, the party has criticized Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire for Thursday’s incidents in parliament, alleging that the Speaker is acting with partisan interests.
