KATHMANDU: The Nepal Student Union (NSU), closely associated with the main opposition party Nepali Congress, organized a protest program demanding the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

The protest was aimed at Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane over allegations of his involvement in a cooperative fraud.

NSU organized the protest march in front of RR Campus along Pradarshani Marga, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

During the demonstration, they also burned an effigy of Home Minister Lamichhane.

Police intervened in the process.

NSU leader Anuraj Shah stated that the NSU would continue to protest until an investigation is initiated against Lamichhane.
