Gandaki Province House Session set for April 19
Gandaki Province gears up for its upcoming House Session scheduled to convene from April 19 onwards. Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta has called for the session to commence at 3 PM on Friday. Following a recommendation from the Cabinet during its Tuesday meeting, Province Chief Bhatta has moved forward with summoning the session. In an anticipated development, Chief Minister Khagaraj Adhikari is expected to seek a vote of confidence during this session.
NC objects to Gandaki Province Assembly summons
The Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed its objection to the decision of Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta to summon the province assembly on April 19, stating that the summons for the Gandaki Province Assembly session is unconstitutional. In a statement issued on Wednesday, NC’s Gandaki Province Parliamentary Party leader and former Chief Minister, Surendra Raj Pandey, mentioned that summoning the assembly session while disregarding the Constitution and existing laws constitutes an unconstitutional act.
Nepal secures convincing victory over Saudi Arabia by six wickets
Nepal continued its winning streak in the ACC Premier Cup, clinching a fourth consecutive triumph by defeating Saudi Arabia. In a T20 match truncated to eight overs due to rain and a waterlogged outfield, Nepal opted to field first after winning the toss. In a meeting convened on Wednesday at the party’s central office in Alok Nagar, it was decided to establish a government under the leadership of Sodari. Following a crisis within the ruling coalition, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ consented to designate Unified Socialist as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim.

Mountaineering season in Nepal sees over 600 permits issued for Spring summits
Nepal’s mountaineering season has kicked off with a notable influx of adventurers, as the Tourism Department reports the issuance of permits to 612 mountaineers from 68 groups for spring summits across the country so far. While not a record-breaking figure, the number underscores the enduring allure of Nepal’s mountains among climbers worldwide. Of the permit recipients, 478 are male and 134 are female, reflecting a growing diversity in the mountaineering community. Mt. Everest retains its position as the most sought-after summit, with 274 permits allocated, marking a slight decrease from last year’s figures.
