POKHARA: The Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed its objection to the decision of Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta to summon the province assembly on April 19, stating that the summons for the Gandaki Province Assembly session is unconstitutional.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, NC’s Gandaki Province Parliamentary Party leader and former Chief Minister, Surendra Raj Pandey, mentioned that summoning the assembly session while disregarding the Constitution and existing laws constitutes an unconstitutional act.

He stated, “Summoning the assembly session while the interim order from the respected court is in effect and bypassing the constitution and existing laws is unconstitutional.

It is clear that those responsible for creating a polarized atmosphere in the provincial assembly would bear the consequences.”

The Gandaki Province Assembly session has been summoned for Friday.

Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta has summoned the provincial assembly session from 3 pm on April 19.

There is a controversy over the appointment of officials appointed on April 7.

With the Speaker also included in the claims to show majority for the nomination of Chief Minister candidate, Adhikari’s appointment is currently embroiled in controversy.

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order directing Gandaki government not to take any decision having long-term impacts saying the full hearing will will be held on March 22.
