CIB receives report from High-Level Probe Commission on Gold Smuggling



KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police received the report from the High-Level Probe Commission on Gold Smuggling.

According to CIB sources, the High-Level Probe Commission’s report on Gold Smuggling, prepared by the team led by Former Justice Diliraj Acharya, has been handed over to the CIB on Sunday.

Previously, the commission had presented its report to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who then submitted it to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

CIB Chief AIG Shyam Lal Gyawali received the report at the Ministry of Home Affairs at a time when Prime Minister Dahal and Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane have been ensuring that appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty.

The High-Level Commission consisted of Kishor Jung Karki, Prem Raj Joshi, and Sahakul Thapa as its members.
