Police arrest one for publicly sharing photo of alleged sexual assault victim



KATHMANDU: The Cyber Bureau of police has apprehended an individual for publicly sharing a photo of an alleged sexual assault victim.

Kesharman Rai was arrested for disseminating a woman’s photo, falsely claiming her to be the victim in the rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.

Rai has been brought to Kathmandu from Sankhuwasabha.

According to bureau sources, an additional seven days have been granted for further investigation against him.

The bureau has reportedly intensified efforts to apprehend individuals involved in disclosing the identity of the sexual assault victim.

A young woman had filed a case against Rai with the Cyber Bureau a few days ago.
