Maoist Center expels two alternative central members

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-Maoist Center has taken disciplinary action against two alternative central members.

According to spokesperson Agni Sapkota, the party’s standing committee meeting held last Saturday decided to expel alternative central members Biru Tamang (Sudeep) and Uma BK, along with removing them from the party’s general membership.

Similarly, the party has also sought clarifications from another alternative central member Gorakh Bahadur KC for his involvement in the physical assault on the Chinese team who had been to Jajarkot for the distribution of relief materials to the earthquake-hit victims.

Sapkota clarified that action against Tamang was for his undue involvement with the controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, and BK was expelled for her decision to discard the party and join CPN-UML.

The Maoist Center has clarified that the expulsion decision was based on the investigations of the allegations the party received on different occasions.
