FNJ announces final voting results



KATHMANDU: The final voting results of the Federation of Nepali Journalists have been made public.

The results of the voting held last on Friday were announced late Sunday night.

Nirmala Sharma was elected president with 4,282 votes, while her closest rival, Ramesh Bista, received 3,203 votes.

Deepak Acharya was elected senior vice president with 4,230 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Roshan Puri, who garnered 2,886 votes.

Neetu Pandit won the vice president (women) position with 4,705 votes. Her rival, Ganga Poudel Baral, secured 2,644 votes.

Umid Bagchand emerged victorious as vice president (inclusive) with 4,292 votes, while his closest competitor, Subhash Prasad Sah, received 2,080 votes.

Ram Prasad Dahal was elected general secretary with 4,084 votes. His nearest rival, Lekhnath Neupane, earned 1,929 votes.

Ramesh Khatiwada won the open secretary post with 3,400 votes, while his nearest rival, Uttar Singh Bista, received 2,067 votes.

Soni Sharma won the secretary (women) position with 4,347 votes. Her rival, Sarita Baraili, secured 2,823 votes.

Sabin Priyasan was elected secretary (indeginous) with 3,535 votes, while his closest rival, Bhisan Rai, received 2,457 votes.

In the Secretary (Madhesi) post, Ashok Kumar Tiwari won with 3,858 votes, while his rival, Shreejan Jha, received 2,243 votes.

Prakash Dhaulakoti was elected Secretary (Dalit) with 4,110 votes, defeating Basanta BK, who got 1,892 votes.

Baikuntha Raj Parajuli won as Secretary (Associate) with 3,645 votes, while his nearest competitor, Bikash Karki, received 2,735 votes.

Ramkrishna Adhikari was elected Treasurer with 3,847 votes, while his rival, Ramkrishna Gyawali, secured 3,464 votes.

Among the members, Chhabilal Tiwari, Bhupendra Acharya, Mukunda Prasad Bhandari, Rameshwor Karki, and Labdev Dhungana were elected on the open category.
