Nepal sees 576,542 departures for foreign employment in first 10 months of fiscal year

KATHMANDU: In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, a total of 576,542 individuals left Nepal for foreign employment opportunities.

This equates to an average of 57,657 Nepali nationals departing each month during this period.

The months of Chaitra and Baishak saw the highest numbers of departures, with 70,933 and 70,637 individuals respectively.

Notably, even during festivals like Dashain and Tihar, Nepali nationals continued to migrate abroad, with 56,235 departing in Ashoj and 43,622 in Kartik.

According to the Department of Foreign Employment, the figures for other months are as follows: 55,575 in Shrawan, 50,884 in Bhadra, 68,201 in Mangsir, 65,813 in Paush, 62,147 in Magh, and 65,658 in Falgun.
