Two killed in Palpa jeep accident



PALPA:  Tragedy struck on the inner road of Nisdi Rural Municipality-4 Matiyardanda in Palpa as a passenger jeep veered off course, claiming two lives and leaving 13 others injured last evening.

Rajeev Sunari from Nisdi-4 Mityal Belkhar and Tejan Somai from Nisdi-4 Mityal Gyangsibas lost their lives in the incident, District Police Office Palpa, said.

The victims, seven-year-old Sunari and 16-year-old Somai, succumbed to their injuries last night at Madhyabindu District Hospital, Kawasoti Municipality, Danda (Nawalparasi East), while the injured are currently under medical care at Chitwan Medical College.

The ill-fated jeep, bearing registration number Lu 1 Ja 3324, was en route from Nawalparasi (East of Bardghat Susta) Arunkhola towards Palpa Nisdi Rural Municipality-3 Khadar with a total of 15 occupants, including the driver, as per police reports.
