CIAA files cases against five, including Chief of Social Development Office Dolpa

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed cases against five individuals, including the former Chief of the Social Development Office in Dolpa.

The CIAA has lodged complaints against Dhananjaya Acharya, the former head of the Social Development Office, Dolpa, and four others at the Special Court in Kathmandu.

According to CIAA sources, Acharya is alleged to have misused his authority during the construction of a covered hall and sports fields, resulting in an excess bill payment of more than Rs 993,940. Consequently, a special court in Kathmandu has initiated legal proceedings against them.

The accused individuals are Dhananjaya Acharya, former head of the Dolpa District Office, Sub Engineer Moti Prasad Budha, Chairman of the Consumer Committee Abhishek Shahi, Secretary Apara Gurung, and Treasurer Bishwanath Shahi.
