Birgunj Metropolis surpasses Rs 360 million revenue collection milestone



BIRGUNJ: The Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC) has announced a significant achievement in revenue collection, surpassing the mark of Rs 360 million during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

During this period, the BMC collected a total of Rs 167 million, with property tax contributing the most at Rs 127 million, followed by house rent at Rs 45 million.

The BMC has been levying taxes under 24 different categories.

Manoj Karna, Chief of the revenue division at BMC, expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that this year’s collection exceeded last year’s by Rs 29 million.

He regarded this improvement as a positive development for the city.
