KMC warns of action against improper disposal of construction materials

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a stern warning to individuals and companies regarding the improper disposal of construction materials on streets and pavements.

KMC emphasized that it is mandatory to clear the road and footpath of any construction debris once the work is completed.

The scattered materials not only impede public movement but also disrupt the city’s development management and beautification efforts.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol cautioned that KMC will take stringent action against those responsible for the disorderliness.

Additionally, any individual or company intending to undertake construction activities in public areas or roads must obtain prior permission.

In a notice issued, KMC reiterated the legal provisions outlined in the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, and the Environment Protection Act, 2076.

It urged all concerned parties to comply with these regulations to ensure the orderly and sustainable development of Kathmandu.
