KATHMANDU: Following the agreement by leaders of the Nepal Samajwadi Party(NSP), including Chairman Mahendra Ray Yadav faction, to unite with the CPN-Maoist Center, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai faction has called the central committee meeting.

NSP Yadav faction leaders signed, on Saturday, a four point agreement with Maoist Center for the party unity.

According to NSP central office chief Roshan Pokharel, NSP has called the executive committee and central committee meeting on Sunday and Monday respectively.

“The party meetings to take place on Sunday and Monday will decide on the action against the leaders imposing personal decision without consulting the party committees,” he said.

NSP’s federal and provincial lawmakers had contested elections with the Maoist Center’s election symbol.

While the Yadav faction claims to have a majority in favor of unity with the Maoist Center, the Bhattarai faction alleges that Yadav has not been able to garner the support of 10% of the central members for party division.
