38 election offices established for December 1 local by-polls

KATHMANDU: Thirty-eight election offices have been established in preparation for the upcoming local-level by-elections scheduled for December 1.

The Election Commission (EC) announced that 32 offices of chief election officers and six offices of election officers have been set up at the local level.

It stated that electoral activities will be conducted in these facilities from November 17 to 20.

The schedule for filing candidacies begins on November 17, with the final list of candidates published on November 20, when they will also receive their electoral symbols. Voting will take place from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on December 1.

The local-level by-elections will select two district coordination committee chiefs, two rural municipality chairs, one mayor, one deputy mayor, and 34 ward chairs, totaling 44 local representatives.

Additionally, the Election Commission announced today that Aryal has been appointed as the spokesperson for the commission, as confirmed by Assistant Spokesperson Durga Prasad Chalise.
