Feeling more at ease after stepping down from power: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, has stated that he feels more at ease after stepping down from power.

Prachanda made this remark during the launch event of a book in Kathmandu on Friday.

Addressing rumors that he is troubled or distressed after leaving government, Prachanda firmly denied them.

“Some people say that I am worried and pained after leaving the government. That’s not true. Absolutely not,” he said.

“In fact, I feel more comfortable now than I did when I was the prime minister. I am relaxed, and I’ve returned to the people.”

The former prime minister also expressed his concern over the future of the constitution and political system that he helped establish.

“There is definitely a worry that the constitution and system we have brought through years of struggle and sacrifice could come under attack,” he remarked.

“It’s natural for a parent to feel protective of what they have created. That’s how I feel about the system I helped bring into being.”
