KATHMANDU: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has expressed that the message the Guru Nanak, the founder of Shikhism, gave to humanity ‘to seek the god within, to be diligent and to take food only after distributing it’ is equally relevant and important even to this day.

In a message of best wishes he gave on the occasion of the Guru Nanak Jayanti, 2024 today, the Vice President expressed the belief that the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak will inspire one and all to dedicate to building an equitable, peaceful, decent, tolerant and civilized society by eliminating the all kinds of existing anomalies, aberrations and disparity.

Stating that Guru Nanak during his lifetime gave life-guiding epigram for human welfare by creating many hymns and songs, Vice President Yadav opined that the Guru Nanak’s precepts give the education to always dedicate oneself to truth, self-knowledge and humanity.

He emphasized on the need of internalizing Guru Nanak’s teachings in life and moving ahead with a strong resolution to spread the feelings of national unity, mutual compassion, brotherhood and peace.

The Vice President said in his message of best wishes that may this Jayanti inspire one and all to walk on the path of truth, compassion and service motive. He wished for the peace, happiness and good health of all the Sikh community within the country and abroad on this occasion.
