Nepal condemns Israeli attacks against peacekeepers in Lebanon

KATHMANDU: Nepal has strongly condemned Israel’s attack on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.

On Sunday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) stated that Israeli forces breached the main gate of the peacekeepers’ base and opened fire.

As a result, 15 peacekeepers experienced skin irritation and stomach issues due to smoke exposure.

In response to this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal issued a statement condemning the attack on behalf of the nation.

“Nepal strongly condemns the recent attack on UNIFIL peacekeepers,” the statement read.

“We urge both parties to the conflict to ensure the safety of the peacekeepers. It is essential to halt such activities immediately and conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.”

This attack comes amid Israel’s ongoing military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
