PM Oli taking oath today; cabinet expansion expected



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy today.

President Ram Chandra Paudel is scheduled to administer the oath at 11 am today at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Oli, who leads the CPN-UML party, was appointed Prime Minister by the President on Sunday under Article 76, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Oli assumes office with the backing of MPs from the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress, the largest party in the House of Representatives.

Sources said Prime Minister Oli also plans to expand the Council of Ministers today to include members from the Nepali Congress and UML.
