More than 43,000 apply for skill fair training at Tundikhel



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has received a staggering 68,866 applications for various free skill training programs.

Among these, 43,058 individuals have applied for the skill fair at Tundikhel, as confirmed by the KMC.

The ongoing skill fair at Tundikhel aims to train 2,081 individuals with the intention of facilitating subsequent employment opportunities.

The fair offers training across 30 categories within 10 different fields.

Engineer Shailendra Jha, a member of the Urban Planning Commission, shared plans to train 15,000 individuals in the current fiscal year under the KMC Pride Plan, with the target of securing employment or self-employment for 5,000 individuals.

Jha explained the selection process, which prioritizes applicants based on criteria such as name, surname, mobile number, citizenship number, and address.

Initially, the metropolis mandated online applications for the skill fair.
