Finance Minister Pun leaves for America to attend World Bank and IMF meetings



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Barshman Pun left for America to attend the joint meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Minister Pun, leading a four-member delegation, left for Washington DC this morning on a Qatar Airways flight, as confirmed by his secretariat.

The delegation includes Shree Krishna Nepal, Chief Joint Secretary of the Ministry’s International Financial Assistance Coordination Division; Kanchan Basnet, Deputy Secretary in charge of the World Bank Desk under the same Division; and Bhupal Raj Shakya, personal secretary to the Minister.

During his three-day visit to the US, Minister Pun is scheduled to meet with various senior officials from the World Bank.

Minister Pun will hold additional meetings with senior officials from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), American International Development Finance Corporation (DFP), representatives of the private sector, and non-resident Nepalis.
