Prime Minister Dahal calls cabinet meeting



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has summoned a cabinet meeting for Friday evening.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting is scheduled for 5 pm on today.

Previously, the committee investigating the gold smuggling case had identified several errors in the Central Investigation Bureau’s (CIB) investigation.

As a result, preparations are underway for disciplinary action against AIG Kiran Bajracharya, the Chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

The purpose of the Cabinet meeting is to discuss the implementation of the reports provided by the investigation committee regarding the gold smuggling case, as per the Secretariat source.

The committee recommended disciplinary action against Bajracharya due to significant errors in the investigation related to the gold smuggling case.

Bajracharya was summoned for questioning by the investigation committee on January 31st.
