NPL: Kathmandu defeats Pokhara by 6 wickets



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gurkhas secured their third victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a comfortable 6-wicket win over Pokhara Avengers in today’s match at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Chasing a target of 139 runs set by Pokhara, Kathmandu reached the required total in just 14 overs and 1 ball, losing 4 wickets along the way.

Opener Stephen was the top scorer for Kathmandu with 60 runs. He was well-supported by Michael (32), Gerard Erasmus (25), and Bhim Sarki (22).

Bipin Khatri was the standout bowler for Pokhara, taking 3 wickets, while Michael claimed 1 wicket.

Earlier, Pokhara, invited to bat after losing the toss, posted a total of 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

With this victory, Kathmandu moves to 6 points from 6 matches, strengthening their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

Pokhara, despite the loss, still has a mathematical chance of advancing, sitting at 4 points from 6 matches.
