KATHMANDU: Shortly after being appointed Prime Minister for the fourth time, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli visited former President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Chapali.

President Ram Chandra Poudel appointed Oli as Prime Minister on Sunday, and Oli immediately went to Chapali to discuss the current political situation and the new government’s direction with Bhandari.

In the coalition with the Nepali Congress (NC), UML will hold the prime ministership and appoint eight ministers.

Oli, tasked with selecting the ministers, sought advice from former President Bhandari on the matter.

Former President Bhandari has shown interest in the names of the ministers from CPN-UML.

Following the coalition agreement with the Congress, Oli is advancing his governance plan in consultation with Bhandari.

Oli is scheduled to take the oath of office as Prime Minister on Monday at 11 am.

Bhandari has indicated multiple times that she might return to active politics within the CPN-UML after stepping down as president.

Considering her interest, Oli is finalizing the list of ministers from the UML.

President Poudel appointed Oli as Prime Minister under Article 76(2) of the Constitution, with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Monday.

During the ceremony, all ministers from both the UML and Congress will be sworn in.

After the formation of the new coalition between the Congress and UML on July 3, the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ fell on July 12.

Following this, the President called for the formation of a new government on Friday evening.

Responding to this call, Oli, along with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, submitted his claim to the premiership at Shital Niwas.
