JANAKPUR: The Madhes government has decided to form a high-level investigation committee to probe issues raised regarding the budget allocated for the upcoming fiscal year.

In today’s meeting of the Madhes Province Assembly, Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal announced the decision to form a high-level committee to investigate the concerns raised about the budget.

He informed that Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Parliamentary Party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav have been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the committee.

On June 30, JSP, Nepali Congress, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP), and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Singh demanding amendments to the provincial budget. This issue has been causing disruptions in the provincial assembly meetings.

To facilitate the proceedings and approve the budget, an all-party meeting was convened today under the leadership of Speaker Mandal.

The meeting decided to assign the responsibility of forming the high-level investigation committee to Chief Minister Singh and JSP leader Yadav.
