Outgoing Sports Minister admits falling short of expectations

KATHMANDU: Outgoing Sports Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has admitted that he could not achieve significant improvements during his tenure and has taken full responsibility for all the shortcomings.

Speaking at a farewell program held at Singha Durbar on Sunday, Shrestha acknowledged that while the credit for any good work goes to everyone, he alone takes responsibility for the failures.

He emphasized that the policy decisions made during his term were significant. However, Shrestha admitted that despite high expectations in the sports sector, he was unable to meet them.

He also shared that working within the Ministry of Sports proved to be extremely challenging.
