Shekhar-Gagan group of Nepali Congress demands four ministerial portfolios



KATHMANDU: The faction of the Nepali Congress led by Shekhar Koirala and General Secretary Gagan Thapa has demanded four ministerial portfolios from the total ministerial berths allocated to the party.

The group held a meeting at Bishalnagar on Sunday to discuss the selection of candidates from the party to join the Cabinet led by UML Chair KP Sharma Oli.

Attendees included the party’s Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, Gagan Thapa, Badri Pandey, Jeevan Pariyar, Arjun Narsingh KC, Dr. Minendra Rijal, Dilendra Prasad Badu, and Dr. Chandra Bhandari.

The Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have forged an alliance to form a new government and share power from the central to the federal level.
