Oli’s ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ motto echoes as UML regains power

KATHMANDU: The government has reintroduced the motto ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ in its policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/25.

This vision, originally put forward by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during his second premiership, has regained prominence with the return of the CPN-UML party, led by Oli, to power.

Despite facing challenges, including the dissolution of parliament on two occasions, the CPN-UML was compelled to assume the opposition’s role.

However, with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal terminating the coalition with the Nepali Congress and aligning with the CPN-UML, Oli’s vision for a ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ has once again become central to the government’s agenda.
