Patan High Court hearing cricketer Sandeep’s case today



KATHMANDU: Patan High Court is hearing cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane’s appeal against the Kathmandu District Court’s ruling in a rape case.

Advocate Saroj Krishna Ghimire said that Sandeep’s case features in the top of today’s cause list.

Despite encountering delays, the legal proceedings have continued.

In the initial verdict, the Kathmandu District Court sentenced Sandeep to 8 years of imprisonment for the alleged rape incident in Gaushala 26.

Subsequently, Sandeep lodged an appeal with the Patan High Court, where the case has faced postponement on five occasions.

Yet, the trial proceeds, underscoring the gravity and urgency surrounding the matter.
