KATHMANDU: Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has made a resolute vow to hold accountable government officials implicated in any lapses during the gold smuggling investigation.

Having received the report from the Gold Smuggling Probe Commission, Minister Lamichhane reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to combatting gold smuggling and ensuring those responsible face consequences.

“I am fully dedicated to taking stringent measures against any government official found neglecting their duties or aiding the perpetrators of smuggling,” Lamichhane stated firmly.

The comprehensive report delivered by the Gold Smuggling Probe Commission underscores the gravity of the situation.

Commission Chairman Acharya underscored that recommendations for actions against officials involved in investigative lapses have been put forward.
