High Court deems govt nomination of Health Council Members illegal



KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has declared the government’s nomination appointment of four members to the Nepal Health Professional Council as illegal.

Along with this verdict, the four members are now relieved of their positions.

The Ministry of Health had appointed four individuals to the positions to be elected through the election.

Bal Bahadhur Sinjali had filed a writ against this decision of the Ministry at the High Court.

The division bench of Judges Ramesh Dhakal and Dilli Ratna Shrestha issued the verdict on Wednesday.

Following this verdict, the members appointed to the Council, Top Bahadur Thapa, Michael Devkota, Shalik Ram Dhital, and Ram Binod Mahto, are now relieved of their positions.

It is noteworthy that Dhital had previously resigned voluntarily.
