Judge’s wife attempts self-immolation at Supreme Court premises



KATHMANDU: The wife of Judge Bhuwan Giri made a self-immolation attempt within the premises of the Supreme Court on Sunday.

She tried to set herself on fire by dousing her body with petrol.

As she was in the process of pouring petrol on herself, the police intervened and prevented the act. Currently, she is in police custody.

Prior to this incident, she had filed a case of marital rape against Judge Giri in November 2022. She is Giri’s second wife. Judge Giri had been living with her after legally separating from his first wife.
