Foreign Minister Rana meets with her Belgium counterpart

KATHMANDU: Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba met with Bernard Quintin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium, discussing the various aspects of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, she called for Belgium’s support towards making Nepal’s graduation from the LDC category smooth, sustainable and irreversible.

“We discussed the ways to scale up economic engagements between Belgium and Nepal, including through investments in priority sectors. This concludes my official engagements in Brussels,” Dr. Rana said.

Likewise, she also held talks with Commissioner for International Partnerships at the European Commission, Jozef Síkela, in Brussels.

In the meeting with Síkela, the discussion focused on economic relations, development cooperation, and particularly Nepal’s request for the EU’s support for ensuring smooth, sustainable and irreversible graduation of Nepal from the LDC category, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release.
