Nepal Police transfers 10 DIGs; changes police chiefs in four provinces



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has transferred 10 Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), with changes in the leadership of police forces across four provinces.

The transfer notice was issued on Thursday at midnight through a decision at the Home Minister level.

As part of the reshuffle, the police chiefs of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces have been replaced.

Koshi Province Police Chief Chandra Kuber Khapung has been transferred to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), while Rajan Adhikari, previously with the Special Bureau, has been appointed as the new Koshi Province Police Chief.

Gandaki Province Police Chief Durga Singh has been moved to the Province Coordination Department, where preparations are underway for his promotion to Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in the coming days.

Bhola Bahadur Rawal, recently promoted to DIG, has been appointed the new police chief of Gandaki Province.

DIG Dan Bahadur Karki has been transferred to Lumbini Province, while Kuber Kadayat, who previously served as the Lumbini Police Chief, has been reassigned to the Inspector General of Police Secretariat and will also take on the role of police spokesperson.

DIG Manoj Kumar KC has been assigned to the National Police Training Academy.

Both he and others promoted to DIG alongside him have been given provincial leadership roles.

Sudurpaschim Police Chief Rabindra KC has been transferred to the Development Directorate, with newly promoted DIG Ganesh Chand taking over his responsibilities.

Lalmani Acharya has been reassigned to Madhesh Province, while Janak Bhattarai has been appointed as the new police chief of Karnali Province.
